Here at Dworkin Dentistry, we offer General Dentistry services because we believe in the power of preventative oral health care. Your oral health is directly connected to your overall health, and keeping your teeth and gums healthy helps keep the rest of you happy and healthy too.
What it entails?
Regular dental appointments are the base for your teeth and gums to remain healthy. Your twice-a-year visit allows us to intervene in any issues that may be developing before they become a more serious situation, requiring additional treatment.
Your oral health is our specialty, but the Act of your dental visits does not stop there. Good oral health is critical to much more than your teeth and gums. Poor oral health can cause serious health complications such as cardiovascular disease, increased risk for stroke, higher risk for diabetes, more difficulty controlling diabetes, and even respiratory issues. That’s enough to stop anyone from smiling!
Through education, we empower our patients by presenting all the various treatment therapies that are suited to their specific dental needs. Together we determine the best solutions for you. Expect the same level of exceptional care in our office for you and your family, that we provide for our own family.
Early detection of dental problems is the best way to avoid gum disease and loss of natural teeth. You probably only see your primary care provider only when you are experiencing a health issue producing symptoms that have become worrisome. When you see your General Dentist twice a year, you are receiving the best in preventative care. It’s much easier to resolve a problem that is still so small that there are not yet noticeable symptoms. Keep your teeth and gums in tiptop shape with regular dental appointments. Your smile will thank you!
Overall Health issues
General Dentists can provide relief for mild to moderate sleep apnea, through the use of custom made oral appliances. We have the special training and expertise to determine the cause of the sleep apnea and assess if an oral appliance is appropriate for you. Most patients who would benefit, use a mandibular advancement device (aka MAD). The MAD works by repositioning the lower jaw, bringing it forward. This repositioning keeps the airway passages open, relieving the obstruction causing the sleep apnea. It can be a viable alternative for those who do not want to use a CPAP machine. If you have ever had sleep issues, you know how important it is to get them under control. Let us help you sleep better.
That’s not all
We can also help with the painful condition Temporomandibular Joint disorder (aka TMJ). TMJ refers to the joints found on either side of your head. These joints connect your jaw to your skull and are responsible for the movements involved in opening and closing your mouth, chewing, and speaking. With all of these complex movements, it’s easy to see how misalignment of these joints can cause symptoms like tenderness around the jaw, popping or clicking sounds, pain when the mouth is opened widely, and headaches or earaches. With proper diagnosis regarding the cause of the TMJ, we can offer relief through various oral appliances.
